The scope of work at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital included the full turnkey installation of a Biograph Vision Quadra full-body PET/CT scanner, the first of its kind in Australia and the second ever to be installed worldwide. To prepare the site, PCI cut through and enlarged an existing space, creating room for the Quadra and installing structural steel to support increased loading requirements. The complete fit-out involved refurbishing surfaces to a medical-grade finish, upgrading mechanical and electrical systems, and installing new skylights and sky ceiling features.

During the project delivery, PCI was also contracted to design and construct a new rooftop platform and a sealed equipment room for the Nuclear Medicine department. This was accomplished without disrupting the day-to-day operations of one of Sydney’s busiest hospitals.
