Situated in the Blue Mountains adjacent to the National Park, Scenic World is listed on the Australian Registrar of nationally important tourism sites. The complex features the world’s steepest scenic railway, a chasm-spanning Skyway cable car, and accommodates up to 7,000 tourists a day. PCI was commissioned to construct a two-floor extension to accommodate more tourists waiting to board the rides, and to expand the souvenir and retail display areas.

The project involved working over fully occupied queueing areas and amidst the public. Highly complex scaffold and safety hoarding systems were installed over the actual railway and ride queueing areas to facilitate work while the facility continued to operate at full capacity.
